sciatica is a condition that is the result of pains which go through the sciatic nerve. This is the biggest nerve in the human body and there can be quite a bit of damage done. It goes from the lower spine to your lower back area. It then goes through to your hips and also to your buttocks. This nerve then goes into your legs and ends at your knees.
When you have problems with sciatica you can feel the pain go through your sciatic nerve and down into the buttocks, legs and even the feet in some cases. This pain might include a weird numb sensation. You might also experience some sort of weak feeling in your legs.
When the pain goes through your back and into the legs it can only be felt in one of your legs at a time. This feeling might feel like some type of electric shock.
When the pain from sciatica becomes severe it can make moving around quite painful. Simple acts such as using the bathroom or making dinner can become a painful experience. The pain that you can feel from your lower back starts to jolt and ache as you move around. Even when you are sitting down or on your back you might feel a pain. It can often become quite painful just to lie on your back as your body pushes up against the sciatic nerve, causing a great deal of discomfort.
When you have damage from sciatic pains you will often experience a great deal of relieve within a couple of weeks. Luckily for many people it does not leave any permanent damage and they can get along with their lives. However, there are many people out there who are living with the pain associated with this condition daily.
