Truck driving is a risky job, maybe it is only now that you know this. It is very clear how risky truck driving is, you can see how big are the machines that the truck is carrying, on the otherhand the drivers are not thinking about their health.
There are a lot of complaints that drivers are complaining this includes ringing ears, back pain and neck pain. Also some are developing hemorrhoids, digestive ulcers, high blood pressure and other back injuries. The source of each problem can be traced back to the demands of truck driving and life on the road.
Truck drivers work irregular shifts and sit in an immobile position for hours upon end.Also they lift heavy freight and other heavy objects. This job will require you to have long hours of work. Many drivers are smokers because of the great boredom that makes them do something and that is to smoke.
The amount of sleep is a huge concern for the trucking industry. Truck drivers that are so tired are risking themselves of being in the accidents. Sleepy drivers cause at least 20% of all accidents involving trucks and tractor trailers in the United States. Driver fatigue has become an important issue and has risen to the top of truck driver concerns. Now more than ever, companies are looking to transport their goods quickly and efficiently, leaving little room for driver rest and recuperation.
The lack of restful sleep will cause a truck driver to have a sleep disorder which is sleep apnea, a disorder where a person tends to stop breathing when sleeping. Backaches are the most common ailments of drivers because of the long hours in sitting position. If you are going to sleep in your truck, you are going to have backaches believe me, it is obvious.
Obesity is a major problem for drivers. A high body mass can make a persons health prone to many kinds of diseases.Being a truck driver will make you more at ease in choosing the food that you want because you can go anywhere you want. It is important to choose a healthy diet because drivers are not going to exercise more physically because of their work.
The recurring health issues associated with truck driving can be alleviated with proper medical attention. But a problem that is present is that drivers are just medicating their self and not going to seek medical attention to treat their disease. Taking care of a driver's health is his/her duty. Treating a simple ache and pains, heals the pain and at the same time removes the dangers that are in that pain. Drivers must have a scheduled check up for the sake of their health.
