The pay is also appealing, wherever the work is in the world. A worker starting out at entry level could earn very lucrative salaries immediately, and it is not uncommon for people to be earning £65,000-75,000 thousand pounds per annum, and that is with not even having a previous oil rig job.
People looking to make the step into a new career in gas and oil, need to know firstly how they are going to get that foot in the door. The problem is that many workers on oil and gas rigs are hired due to the experience they have already gained, and so starting out can be a daunting task.
The first approach is usually through a CV and a covering letter sent to the company and is key to promote a professional and competent background through this.
