Actually, what are main exercises or habits which we have to follow to protect our lung function in our old age?

As age increases the lungs do not expand as it did in younger ages. The shrinkage makes the lungs to inhale only less oxygen and the body cells suffer oxygen deficiency. Studies indicate that after fifty years of age the human lungs' efficiency decreases by 40%, and this increases the possibility of getting heart related diseases at a faster pace. One more study reveals that, lung volume decrease and fatal stroke are directly related.

There is a special type of exercise named as aerobic exercise. This is considered as a good weight reducer and good for heart. But in reality it is not. Hard work outs with aerobics would not increase the lung capacity, rather it is quite disastrous to the human body. Usage of aerobic exercise never gives a boost to the aerobic or functional capacity of the total system comprising of heart, lungs and blood vessels. It has been proved that all these system components get a shrinkage only, because of these aerobic exercise. Moreover the existing capacity also gets reduced. The lungs and heart lose their crisis management capacity such as managing a crucial situation or trauma management.

Cardio vascular system is mainly related with your heart, lungs and blood vessels. Actually, it will shrink all your muscles, heart and lungs also. Apart from these drawbacks, it will eradicate your preserving capacity. Also it will decrease the ability of your heart and lungs when you do weight lifting, or when you are disturbed physically for any reasons.

The PACE program focuses on variation; alternating between periods of exertion and recovery. First exercise, then rest. If you increase the intensity of your exercise and change the timing periods of rest between the exercises you will gain lung capacity. You can build up the reserve capacity that you have lost over years of doing the wrong kind of workouts.

Getting healthy again is possible if you know the correct way to go about it. It isn't really the exercise you do, but how you do it that can get the desired results. Running, lifting weights, or even dancing can be your exercise of choice. The PACE program can show you the proper way to implement a workout strategy that can rebuild your reserve lung capacity and keep you looking and feeling young and health.

The best way to avoid having a heart attack is to build up your heart and lungs. The PACE program will not only build your reserve capacity but it will improve your stamina so you can stay active all day. You can have a healthy cardiovascular system without long periods of strenuous exercise, drugs, or unnecessary diets. Looking and feeling young is in the mind, and the cardiovascular system.
