Who isn't interested in some form of self improvement? There are a few of them out there, but most of us have something in our lives we'd like to work on. Whether we're trying to find some healthy meal ideas, or looking for a 30 minute home workout that we'll stick with long enough to show results, many of us want to make something in our lives healthier. We just need to find self improvement ideas to help us do it, and ways to make it fun.

Great self improvement ideas are everywhere. The internet is full of them. You probably found this article while looking for one. Your friends have millions of them, and they are probably more than willing to share them with you. Entire sections of bookstores are dedicated to self-improvement, with book upon book brimming with great ideas and recipe books full of healthy meal ideas. Even your family doctor would be happy to give you a few ideas on how to live a longer, healthier life.
## How to Find Ideas that Work For You
How do you know if these ideas will work for you? First, don't be afraid to try something. If it isn't working for you the option to try something else will always be there. The best judge of what might work best for you, however, is you! Does something seem silly, or just too far from your current lifestyle? It's probably not the best idea for you. When something seems doable, even enjoyable, that's something you should try.
## How to Incorporate New Self Improvement Ideas into Your Life
Everything isn't going to happen at once! Self improvement is a process, and needs some time to become a part of your life. Try making small changes you can build on, instead of major ones that will be harder to stick to. For instance, try:
- Make small tweaks to make your favorite recipe healthier, like trying whole wheat pizza crust instead of white.
- Increase your activity by 5 minutes a day. If you don't exercise at all, just do anything for 5 minutes.
- If your goal is to eat healthier, great! Don't deny yourself the foods you love, just eat them in smaller portions.
- Find a support group to help you stick with your changes, and help you find new ones!
- Set up a reward system. Give yourself a treat for sticking with something new for 30 days, then up the ante, for example 10 minutes of exercise instead of 5.
##Setback? That's Okay!
Did you stuff yourself at a friend's party and completely blow your new diet? Stuff happens. You can go right back to healthier eating today. Did you decide to stay home and watch a movie instead of taking your evening walk? Okay. Think about how much you enjoyed that movie while you take your walk today. Whatever your setback, don't let it throw you completely off track. Keep moving forward and don't worry about occasional little bumps in the road.
As long as you are just a tiny bit better today than you were yesterday, you've improved. Every improvement doesn't have to be on a grand scale. If you look too far to the future it will always seem out of reach, and you'll grow discouraged. Whatever goals you are setting for yourself, break them up. Remember that it's much easier to reach many smaller goals than one large one. Look at where you are and be happy that it's a better place than you were yesterday, but not as great as the place you'll be tomorrow.
